synomag®-D particles with diameters of 50 nm and 70 nm and synomag®-S particles with a diameter of 100 nm are designed with carboxylic acid groups on the surface for the covalent binding of proteins, antibodies or other molecules, e.g. by carbodiimide chemistry (see technote 200).
synomag® particles without polymer coating are available with COOH groups on the surface with diameters of 30 nm and 50 nm.
The particles cannot be separated with conventional permanent magnets, but in a high gradient magnetic field. The functionalized synomag® particles are supplied in water without any surfactants.
