DTPA

nanomag®-D particles with DTPA surface functionalities are available for the complexation of e.g. Cu2+, Ni2+, Fe3+ and Co3+. DTPA is an interesting chelator for radioactive materials such as plutonium, americium and other actinides or for technecium, gadolinium or rhenium as important nuclides in diagnostic and therapy. The biocompatibility of nanomag®-D allows their application in the development of magnetic targeted radionuclide therapies (Grüttner et al., 1997).
