PEG-NH2

nanomag®-D-spio particles with diameters of 20 nm and 100 nm are designed with PEG-NH2 groups on the surface for the covalent binding of proteins, antibodies or other molecules. The nanomag®-D-spio-particles cannot be separated with conventional permanent magnets, but in a high gradient magnetic field. The functionalized nanomag®-D particles are supplied in water without any surfactants.
Thus several conjugation methods can be directly applied, e.g.

glutaraldehyde activation of amino groups for conjugation to amino groups
maleimide or SPDP functionalization of the amino groups for conjugation of SH-labeled biomolecules (see Technote 201 and Technote 202).
